Draining and Refilling Your Spa

TEST THE WATER

Use the test strips according to the bottle directions, then follow the steps below.

Always add chemicals with the jets on and the cover off.

BALANCE PH & ALKALINITY

Add Spa Sentry to hold the ph and alkalinity in the optimum range. This should be added after the spa has heated to the set temperature. Initially the water will become cloudy, but will clear up in 12 to 24 hours. If ph and alkalinity are low initially, add two tbsp. of baking soda to raise the levels prior to adding Spa Sentry.

SANITIZE

For chlorine and bromine concentrates, add the correct amount (usually 1/2 tsp. per 100 gallons) according to the instructions on the bottle. For Nature 2 or Spa Frog users, insert cartridge into the filter and remember to change your cartridge every four months. The "ok" range will be .5 on the test strip chart. For Vision users, remember to rinse the bag thoroughly before inserting into the filter.

OXIDIZE

Add 2 tbsp. (1 oz.) Spa Shock per 300 gallons weekly. Fast-acting, this product allows you to return to the spa 15 minutes after application. If you are using Enhanced Shock, be sure that the chlorine level has dropped back into the OK range before entering the spa.

Remember to change your filter each year!
