TOURNAMENT SPECIFICATIONS
Golden West is an active, voting member of the Billiard
Congress of America, an organization that sets the rules
governing the playability of tournament play today. The
playfield and pocket openings of their tables conform
to the B.C.A.'s specifications.
SLATE PLAYFIELD
Table have a 3 piece, oversized slate bed, diamond honed
both sides with a thickness of at least 7/8 to 1 inch.
The slate is lined with a solid materials..not particle
board. Rail bolts fasten the rail directly against the
slate allowing a solid bite from the rails to the slate
(rather than being bolted against wood, which can loosen
up through the years).
FRAMES
Golden West mid-priced tables are constructed of 1-1/2
inch of high quality structural veneers. Premium tables
are constructed of solid, kiln-dried hardwood of at least
1-1/2 inch thick solid Oak or Mahogany.
INTERIOR FRAME CONSTRUCTION
Corner frame braces and leg supports as well as 2"
x 8" hardwood slate supports, which put together
the strongest construction in the industry today. Other
manufacturers use a 3/4" plywood plate with a small dado
to hold legs to the frame of their tables. Golden West
builds a structural masterpiece, a 1-3/8" x 8" x 10" thick
corner support to double support the corners for the strongest
frame in the industry today.
RAILS
 Golden
West is a pioneer in the development of the 2 piece rail
assembly using 8/4 quality hardwood and a sub rail with
a hardwood rail cap, which is connected to the slate with
a 3/8 four prong 1/2 inch barrel tee nut.
RAIL FINISH
Oil and wax finish guarantees that with minimum care you
can maintain the rail to a fine furniture look.
FRAME FINISH
Golden West uses a high bred lacquer finish to achieve
a finish that is satin smooth. Ends and edges of the panels
smooth to the touch and finished well
CUSHIONS
Full profile (K66) pure gum rubber cushions are used on
ALL Golden West tables
APRONS
Golden West aprons are finished from the small arched
edge, to the apron locking up into the rail. The competition
has no place for the apron to go, and the apron is cut
off flat. Golden West gives it the true, detailed look
of quality.
